Basil Seeds

Basil seeds (commonly known in India as Sabja, Falooda seeds, or Tukmaria) are tiny, jet-black seeds harvested from sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum). While often confused with chia seeds, sabja seeds are completely black, tear-shaped, and swell much faster—within 5 to 10 minutes—forming a translucent gel coating around a crunchy center.
