Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wah) is technically a seed harvested from the Chenopodium quinoa plant, but it is prepared and consumed like a whole grain (a pseudocereal). It has a fluffy texture when cooked, with a delicate crunch and a mild, nutty taste.
